Making Order out of Disorder

I remember from my university physical science courses that the universe tends to become more mixed up rather than more orderly.  People experience the same behavior with their information collections.  The more information you have the more mixed up it gets.

There is a very simply first step to restore some order:
Sort your paper and electronic information into 3 piles

• Essential
• Trash
• Maybe important

Toss the trash and put the Maybe important pile in an out of the way place.
Put a reminder in your calendar to look at the Maybe important pile in 6 months.
Most likely some or all of this pile will go into the trash!
