Sutter Creek Gold Mine 11-10-08
The gold rush started around here.  Gold was found in the creek in 1849.  That was gone in 2 years and they had to start digging into the quartz veins running through very hard green rock.  The mine hasn’t been in operation for about 20 years. If the price of gold stays high, they might reopen it again next year
